Crab Creek House is designed by Robert Gurney Architect and located in Annapolis, Maryland, constructed on the muse of a Sixties post and beam fashionable house. The muse was kept in a trial to retain its proximity to Crab Creek, an estuary that feeds the Chesapeake Bay.
Strict environmental rules prohibited enlarging the pre-existing footprint or adding important sq. footage to the house. The home is organized around a linear bar, clad in white stucco.
From this central spine, extra areas are articulated as freelance volumes, projecting vertically and clad in either wood or metal siding. The areas are organized around a swimming pool and views toward Crab Creek. Endless wall of glass and coated porch heightens the interaction between within and out of doors. The first areas within the house are oriented toward the water views, have high ceilings and are lightweight stuffed.
